JELIN GEORGE RECREATED A ROMANTIC FAIRY-TALE COLLECTION
Jelin George, the romantic, dreamt of her Prince Charming as she created a stylish fairy-tale collection for Summer/Resort 2011 at Lakmé Fashion Week. With luxurious silhouettes reflecting the beauty of the 1940s and 1970s that were worn by sexy Hollywood stars like Clara Bow, Jelin’s look was seductive but with a minute hint of masculinity in the silhouette.
Cleverly using colour blocking as the highlights for her collection; Jelin played with sensuous cotton, silk and georgette and added on some figure hugging touches to mould the garments. Pencil skirts with flouncing waist layers, red pants teamed with cream chiffon covers, cute hearts appliquéd on white pants, tailored jackets with striking cut away backs and slim skirts with tiny bows were the Cinderella like creations. The final silk rust hooded dress with embroidery was the mysterious end to a fun trendy line.
Here was a collection that will appeal to the graceful damsels in search of their true loves.
PAM AND ARCH LONDON CREATED MAGIC ON THE CATWALK WITH THEIR FEMININE SEXY COLLECTION FOR SUMMER/RESORT 2011
Light and life and the warmth of summer days filled with sunshine was the inspiration that added a perfect touch for the prêt line by the very talented UK based duo Pam and Arch London. Prints dazzled on the ramp in graphic geometric forms with hints of the spectacular Northern Lights colour palette that exploded into a psychedelic rainbow over the ensembles. Simple silhouettes, hemlines that stayed above the knees, prints that were a blitz of floral bouquets, all made the collection very practical yet immensely eye-catching. Shifts and sheaths in clinging silk jersey had a variety of detailing like cutaway shoulders, tasseled hemlines, halters, draped side sarongs, cowl front and back necklines and angular bodices. For that ready-to-wear Summer/Resort look, the designing duo Pam and Arch London have the ideal offering which will thrill women around the globe.
SABBAH SHARMA’S BOHEMIAN FASHION RHAPSODY WAS A STRIKING COLLECTION FOR SUMMER/RESORT 2011
She called her collection “Tempestivitas” which symbolized timeless happiness. Sabbah Sharma’s inspiration was the neo classical artist and illustrator Mucha who featured feminine women. It was attribute to the new age women as Sabbah unfolded a series of pretty dresses, sleek pants and shorts, exciting skirts and smart jackets with controlled glitter.
Using a fusion of delicate fabrics like cotton, silk, flat chiffon, georgette and spun silk, Sabbah added summer tones like white, yellow, pretty pink, juicy orange, earthy green and blue, along with tender beige and moss grey. While the silhouettes were crisp, the designer added geometrics and some quirky embroidered fruit motifs. The look that Sabbah created had that elevating stain glass touch with bits of cutwork.
The grey embroidered trapeze dress, the stain glass maxi and vest, the fruit collection of shorts, cape, jacket, pants, jumpsuit and dress and the luxurious yellow georgette maxi with the front cowl were utterly romantic ensembles that formed a perfect melody on the catwalk.
Showstoppers were the handsome dashing Bollywood star Tushar Kapoor escorting the stunning Preeti Desai ex Miss Great Britain in a swirling blue long skirt over shorts dress
The “Tempestivitas” collection by Sabbah Sharma had all the discreet glitter and great styling which will appeal to the female jet setter of the 21st century.
