Mumbai, January 21, 2011: Aspiring models converged in the commercial capital today to participate in Lakmé Fashion WeekSummer / Resort 2011 Model Auditions held at the Grand Hyatt. Auditions were open to all new and aspiring models, and applicants were selected by industry experts against qualifying criteria matching international standards. This season witnessed a phenomenal response as 118 talented Indian and International female models turned up to audition which is an increase of 87% as compared to the last season. After two rounds of short listing by fashion industry experts, 7 modelsAngela Jonsson, Bryndis Helgadottir, Keylie Bodeker, Lekha Anatharaman, Rikee Chatterjee, Reha Sukheja and Sophia Dgneid were selected.

Model selections were made, keeping in mind the high standards of quality that LFW exemplifies every season besides evaluating their poise, confidence and talent to endorse designer collections with elegance and grace.
Over the years, the coveted platform has built a repute of bringing forward the best and most promising faces of fashion and also been the gateway for popular faces like Katrina Kaif, Mugdha Godse, Yana Gupta and Frieda Pinto. The recently crowned Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria was discovered at LFW Model auditions. Thus this platform continues with the endeavor of providing new talent and re-defining the future of fashion in India through the initiative besides setting a new benchmark for talent every season.
